Legislative Progress

Yes, KARRE is political!

In addition to supporting local community groups and maintaining a database for reliable information, KARRE is committed to bringing about change at the state level to protect the property, health, and well-being rights of ALL Kansans.

Unfortunately, the only effective way to reach some lawmakers is by stepping onto their political "home field". Kansas has many state legislators who seek out the needs and concerns of their constituents, but those who've become entrenched in small and exclusive political pockets require that we go to them to be heard.

KARRE is not a Political Action Committee (PAC) but we are considering using a reputable, registered lobbyist to advocate for the concerns and interests of rural Kansans grappling with the alarming expansion of industrial wind energy developments throughout Kansas.

If this sounds expensive, you're right, it is. We anticipate the annual cost for lobbying would be around $50,000 - $60,000. You may well be asking, "How do you expect to pay for this?"

We're considering several avenues for raising funds which may include collecting dues from local groups that opt to be a member of KARRE. Additional funding sources could also include statewide fundraising events and accepting private donations. We may also look into marketing "cause-related" merchandise. We're still brainstorming options.

Donations

KARRE is currently in the process of incorporating. Additionally, we're creating a business bank account and researching the most secure and simple methods for accepting donations by various means (online, check, direct deposit, etc.).

Once we have these financial instruments in place, KARRE will gratefully accept contributions of any amount.
